Read moreThe dataset contains annual population estimates for all 47 counties in Kenya from 2010 to 2025. Population projections for 2010-2015 and 2020-2025 were obtained from Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) population projections, while the 2019 data was sourced from the official Kenya Population and Housing Census accessed via the rKenyaCensus R package. For the missing years 2016-2018, we employed backward projection using county-specific growth rates calculated from the 2020-2025 KNBS projections, with the 2019 census data serving as the anchor point. County-specific annual growth rates were computed as the mean of year-over-year percentage changes from the 2020-2025 period, then applied retrospectively to estimate 2018, 2017, and 2016 populations.
